How often do we underestimate our dog’s capabilities? Ajax, a Swedish Bouvier des Flanders, was supposed to learn the trick to finding Mom’s keys, but had apparently got the hang of it long before the humans. He had quickly learned to go over to Mom’s keys and bring them to her while ignoring anyone else’s. However, Mom had a helper who also had keys and who Ajax decided he should help as well. Without being taught to do so, he began to resolutely get the “wrong” keys and go straight to the helper with them, then go back to Mom’s keys, which he picked up and gave to her. So smart and well mannered!
